I've been swimming for exercise lately. It's kind of hit or miss when I manage to make it except on Sunday morning. I really have enjoyed getting back in the water it is super relaxing. This little piece really fell together while I was swimming laps this past Sunday.

Thanks for mentioning DISQUS again! I used it a long time ago, but turned it off due to a technical problem. I *really* like the latest version, and am putting it back on my sites. I kind of wish there was an easy way to switch between two posting profiles, though... said Liore, the space goat. /sigh

Well that was easier than expected. It has to do with the Disqus themes and the modifications to make it work were already on the Disqus support forum. It should look fine now.

The like button in this case is linked to Disqus. They recently made some changes to their system to make it more interconnected and interactive or something. I'm not entirely certain how I feel about the changes or the general trend of the Facebookinization of the Internet but it seems largely unavoidable to some degree at this point. people like "Like" buttons. :)

The button weirdness seems to be a Firefox with Disqus thing. That may take a while to sort out as I'm not really really doing anything funky here. I transfered over the same theme I was using before and am using the standard Disqus plugin. Weird.

Explain your Like button, sir! Is it Facebook? It doesn't look obnoxiously Facebooky. I clicked it, but I'm not sure what happened.

Also, it's sort of bleeding over into your sidebar, but I suspect that's because you're mid-server changes.

Definite strangeness with the site. It is mostly functional now. I just have to recreate the book list. I'm really glad I didn't get more done with that. *sigh*

Sorry about the long delay in a reply. I was doing everything (including the above post) on my phone over the weekend.

As it turned out, most of my apprehensions were for nothing. It was a gathering of people who at one time knew each other taking an opportunity to catch up and see how each other was doing and talk about old times. There was absolutely no drama that I saw the whole weekend. Even a lot of the old cliques had largely broken down. People were just talking. I didn't really see much in the way of judging.

Now, I did really come from a pretty decent class in the first place so and I'm sure that is not true of all classes or schools. I'm really happy I went back for my reunion and will probably go back for the next one in five years.

I applaud your inclination to go back and use it as an opportunity for reflection. I don't like milestones like that -- I'm always scared that I'll fall short. "You must be this accomplished to ride the 20 year reunion ride." :)

Anyway, nice to see you writing on a regular basis again.

Hmm... It seems that you are posting from the future! I'm sure it is is just showing GMT instead of local time or some such silliness. More troubling it appears that it is not actually showing as a comment on the main list of entries. This may just be something quirky with the way the the theme I currently have up and DISQUS interact.

I will have to play with this more.

I hadn't really thought about the difficulty of switching identities. I suppose I'll need to sort that out eventually.

Actually, I think it just failed to pass it to DISQUS correctly. Hopefully this new theme works better.
